Plastics Fabricator

Job Summary

The Plastics Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and assembling plastic products by applying their knowledge of working characteristics of plastics and bonding techniques while using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. This position will require that the individual reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations and dimensional and finish specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Use various fabrication techniques in order to assemble the product
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces
  • Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality
  • Trims, drills, countersinks, grinds, and finishes parts to specifications, using templates, hand tools, and power tools

Qualifications and Skills

Education, Experience and Credentials

  • Two-year Technical or Trade school diploma or certification, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Two years’ minimum related experience in fabrication field preferred
  • Understanding of plastics highly recommended

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of plastics fabrication, along with general tool knowledge
  • Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work unsupervised, make high level decisions independently, and solve problems effectively and creatively
  • Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
  • Understand and maintain confidential nature of customer, organization and employee information
  • Show professional knowledge, proficiency and initiative in achieving goals and meeting company standards
  • Able to identify, evaluate, problem solve, and give direction regarding problem resolution for individual and Team issues
