Fixture Estimator

Job Summary

The Fixture Estimator is responsible for providing detailed estimates for both fixtures and temporary displays. This person will interact directly with vendors, sales and project management, engineering, design, prototyping and production.

Responsibilities and Duties

  •  Collaborate with both internal and external clients (vendors, sales and project management, engineering, design, prototyping and production) to develop pricing based around project
  • Provide regular communication with team members and other stakeholders regarding project timing and availability status.
  • Provide product and item availability based on quantities needed and timeframe given
  • Establish pricing based on proper packaging and possible shipping method
  • Update pricing and timing as project continually evolves, and communicate and potential issues due to change in price, availability or timing.
  • Control all pricing versions in electronic document (retain versioning, and notes for reference).
  • Request estimates for all areas and businesses required to produce project (Print, Fixture, Etc.)
  • Assist when needed in sourcing and pricing of logistics and installations including packaging/crates/boxing by reviewing Distro’s
  • Work with Design, and Engineering teams to assist in determining build materials based on price and availability
  • Review prototypes with FPM’s, and update pricing and documentation as needed
  • Work directly with vendors and source materials
  • Working with Kitting and Assembly Departments
  • Client facing time w/PM’s, Management, and Sales
  • Establish tolerance levels and ensure quality controls are in place
  • Outside vendor visits to understand capabilities
  • Shopping as required by project for items needed in process

Qualifications and Skills

Education, Experience and Credentials

  • A degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Design or engineering is a plus or 4+ years work experience.
  • Must be Mac/PC literate
  • Proficiencies in the following software preferred: Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Docs,  Acrobat, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of acrylic and acrylic fabrication processes
  • Knowledge of finishing materials and display hardware for retail fixtures and trade show exhibits
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling tight deadlines and high volume
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated, highly detail oriented, professional, and organized
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Google Documents
  • Experience with fixture production operations
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Performs miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as requested by management
  • Understands and acts consistently with TBG’s purpose and values
