Large Format Production
The Lam Operator maintains and operates lamination machines for the Department.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintains lamination machines.
Greases machines and changes air filters.
Runs all lamination jobs.
Completes the jobs in order given unless a change is scheduled by the Production Manager. Runs the jobs that are there first.
Works with Production Manager on ordering of jobs.
Counts all lamination material inventory. Ensures that sufficient inventory is available for all jobs.
Counts lam rolls, adhesive rolls, and cling rolls.
Switches machines from hot to cold as needed.
Switches out rolls of material.
Follows instructions on tickets.
Mounts artwork on boards with adhesive.
Mounts print on board, ensuring that board is clean. Coats with adhesive.
Checks machines and ensures that each job is running well.
Monitors for problems and errors in lamination.
When there are problems with machines, shuts down the machines and corrects the problems.
At end of shift, cleans up the work area. Picks up loose material, puts in trash, sweeps, and empties trash.
Informs incoming shift workers of what is required for work projects.
Takes laminated products to the next department when finished
Checks for defects flaws in material
Performs miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as requested by management.
Qualifications and Skills
Education, Experience and Credentials
High school graduate or equivalent required.
One year previous experience as a Lam Operator is preferred but willing to train with less experience if the aptitude is there.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer skills.
Possess thorough, organized and detail-oriented approach to work.
Self-motivated, fast learner, shows initiative, willing to seek out customer and staff needs and meet them.
Able to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work. Able to work independently, make decisions and solve moderate level problems independently, effectively and creatively. Knows when to ask questions.
Able to complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company quality standards.
Able to apply effective time management and self-management skills. Able to be flexible and productive in an environment with regular interruptions while maintaining a positive attitude.
Understand and maintain confidential nature of organization, employee and customer information, including and in accordance to HIPAA regulations.
Work as an effective and proactive team-player; exhibit flexibility and switch priorities in work duties while maintaining a positive attitude; understands the importance of supporting the organization, customers, and other employees.
